Ops Reimagined

Getting operations right is nothing short of mission-critical to keeping your app, service, and on a larger scale, your business, up and running. When an issue strikes, it negatively impacts everything from your customer’s experience and trust in your ability to deliver, to your team’s job satisfaction as a result of being burdened with unplanned work.

This is why operations must be totally reimagined. Operations should no longer just keep the lights on, but must become the foundation that allows us all to do our best work, to constantly improve, and focus on how to increase the pace of innovation without sacrificing reliability.

PagerDuty Summit ‘17 will empower attendees to transform their operations and orchestrate coordinated business response to issues of any scale. Matthew Sokol Principal Software Engineer Staple Digital Solutions

Matthew Sokol

Principal Software Engineer - Staple Digital Solutions

Matthew began his career in 2009 in a large east coast financial organization. Millisecond improvements and thousands of transactions per second were the name of the game. The region however didn’t offer much for personal or professional growth so in 2014 he found a promising startup in Seattle and joined their ranks. Still in the financial market, he was now focused a little closer to customer facing technology. Pay at the table devices are rapidly growing in popularity and this company afforded him the room to really stretch into the DevOps space. In 2015, the organization changed leadership and he returned to the more stable corporate world. For the last 2 years, he has been with Staples bringing the spirit of both startup and mission critical finance together to meet somewhere in the middle for innovation, speed, and stability.
