Insights Agent: Deep operational intelligence where your team works
This blog post is part of PagerDuty’s ongoing series on how we’re helping customers navigate their journey towards autonomous operations. Read on to learn about how PagerDuty Advance Insights Agent (now Generally Available for Microsoft Teams users) builds towards this vision.
As AI accelerates development and teams ship more code than ever, operational data is everywhere; insights aren’t. Identifying patterns, spotting risks, and extracting meaningful insights still requires hours of dashboard time. Teams often get there too late, after an incident hits or a business review forces the issue.
In addition to Slack, PagerDuty Advance Insights Agent is now generally available for Microsoft Teams, bringing operational intelligence directly into where teams already work. No dashboard navigation, no context switching, no analytics expertise required.
Ask what you need to know, get the answer in seconds
With Insights Agent in Microsoft Teams, users can ask plain-language questions directly in chat to immediately surface data and insights based on PagerDuty incidents, services, and team analytics. Ask what you need to know, and get an answer in seconds—accessible to any user, in any channel, at any time.
It’s 9:47 AM. An SRE manager opens Microsoft Teams and asks: “Which of our services had the highest incident volume last month?” The agent responds in seconds with a full breakdown of incident counts. What would have taken 20 to 30 minutes of manual analysis is done before the morning standup.

From insights to action in a few clicks
Surfacing data is only half the equation. The harder problem is extracting the right insights from it, and acting before an operational issue becomes a customer-impacting event.
Coming to Microsoft Teams in June, Insights Agent will go beyond on-demand queries by proactively surfacing optimization recommendations. Rather than presenting raw metrics, the agent can identify specific improvement opportunities and surface them with context, explaining the potential impact and proposing a path forward. Users will be able to act on recommendations with just a few clicks, moving from insight to implementation in minutes.

A weekly operational digest is also planned for June, giving teams a regular, structured view of their operational health without requiring anyone to remember to ask.

Access Insights Agent from any AI tool via MCP
For teams already working in AI-powered development environments, Insights Agent is also accessible via the PagerDuty Advance MCP, currently in Early Access. This connects Insights Agent to the AI tool of your choice, like Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot, so you can query operational data and surface recommendations without leaving the IDE.
The path to autonomous operations
Teams shouldn’t be spending hours manually combing through operational data to find improvements that could have been caught weeks earlier. Insights Agent moves you closer to a world where that work happens automatically: intelligence is surfaced where teams work, and it improves with every incident, every service, and every action taken.
