Pagerduty Champions Terms
Welcome to the PagerDuty Champions Program (the "Program"), managed by PagerDuty, Inc. (“PagerDuty” or “We”). By applying for, accepting a nomination for, or participating in the Program, you agree to be bound by these Terms ("Terms").
-
Program Overview
The PagerDuty Champions Program is a community initiative designed to recognize, support, and elevate individuals who are actively sharing knowledge, showing up for others, and contributing to the PagerDuty ecosystem. It is an evolving program built alongside our Champions to determine what is most valuable and impactful for the community.
-
Eligibility and Application
- Who Can Apply: All PagerDuty customers, partners, practitioners, and community members who are passionate about learning, sharing knowledge, and contributing to the PagerDuty ecosystem are encouraged to apply.
- Nominations: Individuals may nominate themselves (self-nomination) or be nominated by a peer.
- Selection: Applications and nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis. Selection to participate in the program is based on an individual's excitement to contribute, engage with others, and grow alongside the PagerDuty community. There is no single required background; we value diverse perspectives and authentic participation. PagerDuty may not be able to accept your application in all cases, especially if the program is full, you don’t qualify, or your participation would be prohibited by law. In particular, persons restricted by export controls and sanctions programs are not eligible. In addition, because we may need to physically ship you some program benefits, we may decline your application in certain countries.
-
Champion Status and Maintenance
Membership in the Program is not permanent and requires ongoing engagement. To maintain PagerDuty Champion status, members must:
- Active Participation: Contribute meaningfully in at least one of the "Required Activities" (listed in Section 4) over a rolling six-month period.
- Quality over Volume: We prioritize quality and authenticity. Champions are not expected to participate in every activity type; consistent, meaningful contribution in one area is sufficient.
Required Activities
Champions are expected to engage in activities that fall under the following four pillars:
- Support the Community
- Share knowledge by answering questions in PagerDuty Commons or other community spaces.
- Start discussions to foster engagement.
- Help peers troubleshoot or navigate the PagerDuty ecosystem.
- Create & Inspire
- Create or share content such as community posts, technical blogs, or social media posts.
- Develop thought leadership content that reflects your personal PagerDuty story and use cases.
- Speak & Lead
- Participate in or help host community events.
- Speak at virtual sessions, webinars, local meetups, or user groups.
- Organize or lead knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Learn & Grow
- Build expertise through PagerDuty learning opportunities and certifications.
- Share constructive feedback with the PagerDuty team to help shape future product and community experiences.
- Support the Community
-
Recognition and Incentives
As a PagerDuty Champion, you may be eligible for certain benefits and recognition. These incentives are tied to engagement and may change over time as the program grows.
-
Code of Conduct
Champions serve as ambassadors for the PagerDuty community. All Champions must adhere to the PagerDuty Community Policy and represent the PagerDuty brand positively.
Privacy and Communications
- Privacy. PagerDuty will collect certain personal information as you participate in the Program. The PagerDuty Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect and how we will handle your personal information.
- Communications Consent. You agree that PagerDuty may send you communications as part of the Program. You can opt out of optional communications by contacting community-team@pagerduty.com.
Intellectual Property
- Feedback. You are encouraged to provide feedback to help us improve the Program. If you give us feedback, you grant PagerDuty a non-exclusive, worldwide royalty-free, fully paid, sublicenseable, transferable, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right and license to use the feedback.
- PagerDuty Trademarks. As an active member, you may refer to yourself as a PagerDuty Champion. PagerDuty may also permit you to use other PagerDuty brands by providing authorization in writing. Both the PagerDuty Champion title and the other PagerDuty brands are considered PagerDuty Trademarks. This permission is granted conditional on your active participation in good standing in the Program and your use in compliance with PagerDuty’s brand guidelines, as shared with you from time to time. PagerDuty retains all right, title, and interest to the PagerDuty Trademarks, and your use of the PagerDuty Trademarks, including any goodwill, insure solely to the benefit of PagerDuty.
Relationship of Parties
Participation in the PagerDuty Champions Program is voluntary. Champions are not employees, agents, or contractors of PagerDuty. Participation in the Program does not entitle the Champion to any compensation, salary, or employee benefits.
Confidentiality
From time to time, Champions may be given access to PagerDuty non-public information, information designated as confidential, or information that reasonably should be understood to be confidential given the nature of the information and the circumstances of disclosure (altogether “Confidential Information”). Champions will use at least reasonable care to (i) use the Confidential Information only as allowed under these Terms, (ii) keep such information confidential and not to disclose it to third parties until it is made public by PagerDuty.
Additional Terms, Program Changes and Termination
- Additional Terms. Use of the PagerDuty websites or the materials on these websites are subject to the Website Terms of Use. If you participate in any PagerDuty events, including Program Events, the events are subject to the Event Terms. If any terms conflict, these Terms will control.
- Program Evolution. As this is a new and evolving program, PagerDuty reserves the right to modify the Program structure, requirements, benefits, or these Terms at any time. Your continued participation in the Program will be subject to the latest Terms, so be sure to check back for updates. If you cannot agree to the latest Terms, you can withdraw from the Program at any time by contacting community-team@pagerduty.com.
- Termination. PagerDuty reserves the right to revoke Champion status at its sole discretion if a member fails to meet activity requirements, violates Section 6 Code of Conduct, or acts in any way detrimental to the PagerDuty community. If you choose to stop participating in the Program or PagerDuty terminates your participation, you will immediately return or destroy all PagerDuty materials and stop using any PagerDuty Trademarks, including the PagerDuty Champion title.
Indemnification
- Indemnification. You will indemnify and hold harmless PagerDuty, Inc. and its agents and licensors, against any and all claims and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising out of your participation in the Program or any violation of the Terms.
- Disclaimer of Warranty. THE PROGRAM AND PROGRAM MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND ALL SUCH WARRANTIES ARE DISCLAIMED INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR FREEDOM FROM ERRORS. ONLY THOSE WARRANTIES MADE AVAILABLE UNDER SEPARATE AGREEMENTS RELATING TO THE PURCHASE OF SPECIFIC PRODUCTS OR SERVICES WILL APPLY. WE DO NOT WARRANT, ENDORSE, GUARANTEE, OR ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE ADVERTISED OR OFFERED BY A THIRD PARTY THROUGH THE PROGRAM, AND WE WILL NOT BE A PARTY TO OR IN ANY WAY MONITOR ANY TRANSACTION BETWEEN YOU AND THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS OF PRODUCTS OR SERVICES.
- Limitation of Liability. IN NO EVENT WILL PAGERDUTY OR ANY OF ITS AGENTS OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE TO YOU IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY FOR DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOST PROFITS. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SECTION APPLIES WHETHER THE ALLEGED LIABILITY IS BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER BASIS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW IN THE APPLICABLE JURISDICTION. FEDERAL LAW, SOME STATES, PROVINCES AND OTHER JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS OF CERTAIN IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IN NO EVENT WILL PAGERDUTY OR ANY OF ITS AGENTS OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS, PROCEEDINGS, LIABILITIES, OBLIGATIONS, DAMAGES, LOSSES OR COSTS IN AN AMOUNT EXCEEDING $100.00.
Miscellaneous
If any provision of these terms shall be deemed unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and PagerDuty, Inc., regarding the Program, and supersede all prior communications or terms, whether electronic, oral or written, between you and PagerDuty, Inc. Failure by us to enforce these terms shall not be construed as a waiver. These terms shall be governed by California law.
