Gartner Report: Predicts 2021: Infrastructure Operations and Cloud Management
The complexity of cloud architectures, featured by intricate webs of service interdependencies, results in “visibility gaps” for infrastructure and operations teams that require ML and AI technologies in order to provide situational awareness of IT performance. Gartner’s predictions for Infrastructure Operations and Cloud Management in 2021 highlight the methods and supporting technologies I&O teams will need to adopt this year to address those visibility gaps to ensure digital business transformation success.
Gartner predicts that in 2021, organizations will need to adopt the following approaches to infrastructure operations and cloud management:
- “Integrate AIOps technologies early in the application development life cycle in order to increase agility, share data across dev and ops teams and reduce toil that leads to inefficiencies.
- Deploy new systems of record that are flexible and cloud-ready, as data trustworthiness becomes increasingly important to service teams and traditional CMDB approaches fall short.
- Evolve monitoring practices and technologies to enable better and faster anomaly detection and event correlation across hybrid, distributed architectures using expanding data sources with high cardinality.”
