An Introduction to Containerisation
The concept of containerisation has been around for a long time, but only (relatively) recently taken off in common usage. Why? As systems started to scale more and more rapidly, there was a sudden push to solve configuration silos – “it works on my machine”. Unfortunately, due to the rapid push not everyone understands containers or the implications of their use. So let’s learn!
In this webinar we’ll provide a high level overview of:
- What are containers
- How and why they are used
- A brief introduction to how you can interact with them
In subsequent webinars, I’ll also cover two of the biggest container technologies currently in use: Docker and Kubernetes.
