Detecta + PagerDuty Integration Benefits

  • Detecta can automatically create alerts in PagerDuty.
  • When you resolve an incident in PagerDuty, the corresponding alert in Detecta will close.

Integration Walkthrough

In PagerDuty

1. From the Configuration menu, select Services.

2. On your Services page:

  • If you are creating a new service for your integration, click +Add New Service.
  • If you are adding your integration to an existing service, click the name of the service you want to add the integration to. Then select the Integrations tab and click the +New Integration button.

3. Type an Integration Name in the format monitoring-tool-service-name. If you are creating a new service for your integration, in Incident Settings, specify the Escalation Policy, Notification Urgency, and Incident Behavior for your new service.

4. Enter integration Name. Select Detecta as the Integration Type. Click Add Integration.

5. Copy the generated Integration Key from the Integrations tab.

6. Scroll down to the Extensions section of the page.

7. Click New Extension and select Generic V2 Webhook type. Enter a name and the URL “https://api.mydetecta.com/webhook/pagerduty” in the details section. Click Save to add the webhook.

In Detecta

  1. Log in to mydetecta.com and navigate to Notification Configuration. Click New.
  2. Specify a name for the notification. Select PagerDuty Notification for type. Copy the Integration Key from PagerDuty to the Integration Key field. Set Delay to “0” and Frequency and Limit fields to “1”. Specify any tags to relate Server / Instance entities to the Notification. Click Confirm to add the notification.
