How to Integrate AlertBot with PagerDuty

 

AlertBot allows you to monitor your website around the clock to ensure it’s always operational. Track its performance, detect errors, and be alerted of failures. Follow the instructions below to configure your AWS Cloudwatch with PagerDuty.  If you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact our support team at support@pagerduty.com.

In PagerDuty

  1. From the Services menu, select Service Directory.
  2. On your Service Directory page:
    If you are creating a new service for your integration, click + New Service.If you are adding your integration to an existing service, click the name of the service you want to add the integration to. Then click the Integrations tab and click the Add a new integration link.
  3. Select your app from the Integration Type menu and enter an Integration Name.If you are creating a new service for your integration, in General Settings, enter a Name for your new service. Then, in Incident Settings, specify the Escalation Policy, Notification Urgency, and Incident Behavior for your new service.
  4. Click the Add Service or Add Integration button to save your new integration. You will be redirected to the Integrations page for your service. (Note your integration-email address, which you’ll need in your AlertBot setup.)

In AlertBot

  1. Move your cursor over Monitoring, located at the top of the screen, and click on Contacts List.
  2. Click on the circle in front of the user or group you wish to add PagerDuty alerts to. Then, click the Edit button, located above the list of contacts.
  3. Click the Add button beneath the heading Contact Methods.
  4. Click on the circle in front of the Email contact type and click Next.
  5. Enter a Contact Method Name for the new PagerDuty Contact. This can be anything you’d like and is just used as a friendly name to distinguish between different methods. In the Email Address field, enter your PagerDuty service’s integration e-mail address.
  6. This new method is now available to be inserted into an Alert Schedule for any Monitor.
