Elevating Our Social Impact: More Outcomes That Matter

At PagerDuty, our mission is to connect teams to real-time opportunity and elevate work to the outcomes that matter. Nowhere is that more evident than in the work nonprofits and social enterprises do to improve the livelihoods and outcomes of others.

Whether deploying a rescue to an individual in crisis, providing information to those impacted by a natural disaster, or quickly transporting organs from donors to patients—these are the moments when empowering teams with the right information at the right time is mission critical.

Through PagerDuty.org, we are dedicated to helping nonprofits and social enterprises expand their reach and impact in their communities. Yesterday, we rang the bell at the New York Stock Exchange to begin our first day trading as a public company. As a result of this milestone, we are able to establish a donor-advised fund with the Tides Foundation to support strategic grant-making and nonprofit capacity building at scale. We’re excited about the possibilities to enable more organizations to have access to exceptional technology, volunteer support, and knowledge sharing they can leverage to improve their operations and amplify their impact.

Investing in Community

PagerDuty took the 1% Pledge in 2017 to give back, investing 1% each of equity, product, and time to drive positive social impact. Through PagerDuty.org, we work to mobilize our core assets—technology, employee talent, business practices, and voice—to help mission-driven organizations empower their teams in real time to positively impact the people they serve. Our programming and initiatives are built around four main pillars:

1) PagerDuty Technology

Our Impact Pricing provides nonprofit organizations and social enterprises with 10 free licenses to PagerDuty’s Platform Team plan so teams across any sector have the tools they need to respond in real time, every time. Since the launch of this program six months ago, we have seen 35% organic growth in our nonprofit customer base, evidence of the digital transformation underway across all industries.

2) PagerDuty People

As a global team, we are committed to improving the communities where we live and contributing our time to the causes we care about. Each team member receives 20 hours of volunteer time off annually to give back to the organizations and outcomes that matter to them. Many choose to volunteer their time to help PagerDuty nonprofit customers optimize their digital operations for greater efficiency and better outcomes.

3) PagerDuty Giving

We give strategically to support organizations in PagerDuty’s global communities who are advancing a more equitable and inclusive workforce and leveraging technology to solving social issues. We support organizations including Code2040, Hackbright Academy, Girls In Tech, HITEC, and Code Tenderloin that are working to drive diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, and work with Fast Forward to support growth in the technology nonprofit sector, a space many of our customers (The Wikimedia Foundation, DoSomething.org and Donorschoose.org and have pioneered). To optimize our impact as we scale, PagerDuty.org has established a donor-advised fund through a warrant granted to the Tides Foundation as part of our 2017 1% Pledge to support future partnerships for purpose-driven organizations globally.

4) PagerDuty Assets

We look for creative ways to leverage our core assets to enable nonprofit success. Open-sourcing our learnings, and empowering our stakeholders to do the same, is a key principle at PagerDuty. We’ve open-sourced 10 years worth of learning in Incident Response, Security, and Postmortems with the goal to drive collaboration and greater efficacy across any sector. Recently, we piloted our first Incident Response and Agile Leadership trainings specifically for the nonprofit sector. To help amplify the missions of these organizations, we’ve engaged with them to share their stories on our platforms and events.

We are proud to work with more than 150 nonprofit customers to empower their teams to act in real-time to impact the communities they serve. We act from the belief that business can drive positive social change at scale, and in fact thrive when they create value for diverse stakeholders. PagerDuty.org works to accelerate the impact of purpose-driven organizations by empowering teams to take real-time action that changes lives.
