Get certified for free (and support a good cause!)

What’s better than getting PagerDuty certified? Doing it for a good cause!

PagerDuty University is holding a special Get Certified Event to celebrate the launch of its new digital credential program in partnership with Credly. From now through October 20th, you can get certified for FREE, earn new digital badge(s), and support a great cause.

Here are the details:

  • Visit our Get Certified Event to explore the certifications we offer.
  • Use the special access code pdcertified092021 to register for your FREE certification exam.
  • Want help preparing for the certification exam? You can take any of our three upcoming training sessions—PD101, PD201, and Incident Responder Masterclass—to brush up on your PagerDuty knowledge, too.
  • Once you complete your exam, you’ll get a digital badge that you can add to your email signature and display on LinkedIn and other social media sites.

And for every certification earned during this 30-day campaign, we will donate $10 toward the Go Give One global vaccine initiative—created by the WHO Foundation to raise funds for COVID-19 vaccines—as part of our ongoing commitment to Time-Critical Health. This donation campaign is supported by PagerDuty.org, the philanthropic arm of PagerDuty.

PagerDuty Certifications

Our PagerDuty Certified program offers a unique blend of product and thought-leadership certifications, allowing you to boost your technical and theoretical knowledge.

Our Incident Responder certification is a fan favorite for both practitioners and business leaders alike. To prepare for this exam, you’ll need to attend the following training sessions: Incident Command System 101, Incident Command System 201, Postmortem Workshop. The Incident Command System is a framework used globally by first responders to coordinate an effective emergency response to critical incidents.

We’ve taken the core principles of this framework and adapted it to the management of technical incidents. Throughout the training, you’ll learn how to manage incidents in a way that reduces downtime, facilitates resolution efforts, and improves technical workflows and peer-to-peer culture. We’ll also demonstrate how you can incorporate our findings into your own organization, including how to scale each process to reflect your team’s structure.

This training is suitable for anyone looking to improve their organization’s incident response process and is platform-agnostic. Following the training, take the exam to become a PagerDuty Certified Incident Responder and champion your team’s response processes. This certification will test your knowledge of the theoretical, cultural, analytical, and interpersonal aspects of Incident Response. Get started by signing up for our Incident Responder Masterclass training.

We also offer a PagerDuty Foundational Practitioner Certification that covers the core features of the PagerDuty platform. This includes basic incident response features and account configuration settings. Be prepared to have your knowledge put to the test through scenario-based questions on the real-world application of schedules, escalation policies, services, and more.

To take this exam, we highly recommend at least 6 months of hands-on experience using PagerDuty. Those who need a refresher on their product knowledge can take our free On-Demand eLearning courses. You can also sign up for our PD101 and PD201 training as part of your exam prep!

Once you pass your exam, you will receive a digital badge to recognize your hard-earned certification. We have partnered with Credly to distribute badges to our certification holders, so you can display your achievement across multiple platforms for maximum visibility and recognition.

What is Credly?

Credly is a leader in the digital credential movement, making talent more visible and opportunity more accessible.
Whether that’s entering the job market for the first time, moving forward in your existing profession, or making a career change, Credly can help you stand out by representing valuable skills unique to your experiences in a way that is sharable and verifiable.

What is a Badge?

Badges are digital assets used to communicate a learning achievement or credential. They have become the standard way to recognize and validate learning in the digital age. Credly badges link to metadata that provides context around your certification, making it easy for others to verify your professional accomplishment.

A badge communicates three things:

  • Who did something?
  • What did they do?
  • Who says they did it?

You can earn a badge for lots of different things, from many different organizations. What makes the badges issued to you from Credly unique is that they represent achievements valued by employers. Badges managed through Credly will help you tell your professional story in a way that is complete and validated.

You can share your badges with anyone you’d like, wherever you’d like:

  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Via email
  • Embedded in a website

A viewer can click on your badge and will be taken back to Credly to view all the details of your achievement. You can also share your complete Credly profile to provide an employer with the full context of your abilities, represented by the various badges you’ve earned and managed through the Credly platform.

Check out PagerDuty’s Credly page to see a list of our badges.
